There are 54 fourteeners (14,000-foot mountains) in Colorado. Climbing the 14ers is a popular pastime amongst hikers in Colorado - an estimated 300,000+ people hike the 14ers each year, with each peak seeing anywhere between 1,000 to 40,000 hikers per year, depending on the ease and popularity of the peak (source). It's easy to understand why these peaks are so popular when you're standing on a high summit gazing out over an incredible 360º vista of surrounding mountain ranges and basins.
Personally I've hiked just over half the 14ers, though often my main objective is a neighboring peak that offers a great view of the 14er I'm trying to photograph. Here you'll find a collection of my favorite photos of the Colorado 14ers; you can also read about some of my 14er summit adventures here.
