Indian Summer in the San Juans
The aspen colors have been brilliant again this autumn season here in the San Juan Mountains of southwest Colorado. But so have the skies! For most of late September and early October the weather has been warm and dry, with relentless blue skies and no snow on the peaks. Great for being outdoors, but not so great for photography. Although autumn is undeniably my favorite season of the year, this season I've suffered from a lack of motivation - partly due to the cloudless skies and partly I suppose just being a bit lazy and burnt out after so much backpacking this summer. We still went on a few wonderful hikes but I just didn't get after it much with the camera this fall. So, this will be the smallest autumn photo collection I've shared in years!

Thousands of aspen leaves catch an updraft, swirling through the sky like a starling murmuration but with yellow leaves!
There's still some color left around here as I write this, but we're off to the desert for some canyon time!
