Winter in the San Juans

Winter 2022  |  San Juan Mountains, Colorado

The 2021-22 winter season was extremely busy for me - but not with photography or snowboarding... my wife and I finished building our new house and finally moved in at the end of winter! With life settling back down I finally have a chance to post some photos from the few times I did manage to get out to photograph the mountains this winter.

It's been 16 years since I first moved out to Ridgway, and coincidentally our new house is located just up the hill from the little cabin I rented back then. It's amazing to me how much has happened and grown in my life since then, and this house somehow feels like a tangible manifestation of all of that. One thing that remains constant, though, is my love of these mountains which pulled me here like a magnet from the beginning. I look forward to hopefully many happy and healthy years to come with my wife and friends here in this special little valley below Mount Sneffels!
