Amazing slot formations a remote and seldom visited canyon similar to the famous and oft-photographed Antelope Canyon, but without the crowds. I was all by myself down here, spending most of the day lost in a daydream, wandering up and down the canyon and photographing the interesting formations.
As most photographers who have been in slot canyons know, the best time to photograph them is during the 3-4 hours around midday on a clear sunny day, when the sunlight filters in and bounces around in the deep narrow slots, illuminating the walls with otherworldly glowing hues. As the sun moves through the sky, the bounce light changes dramatically in the slots, sometimes in a matter of minutes. This allows for hours of fun finding photos in canyons like this.

This is my new favorite print style! A fine art paper print is mounted onto an eco-friendly bamboo wood backer. The print paper has a subtle metallic base that gives the colors a vibrant glow, and a protective matte surface laminate completely eliminates any reflections or glare. The 3/4" bamboo backer is hand-sanded and stained, with a beautiful multi-hued wood edge pattern which offers a modern but natural aesthetic that's a perfect match for a home with wood trim. Unlike all my other options which involve mounted paper prints, this attractive display option uses a dye sublimation technique to infuse the image into a thin, rigid ChromaLuxe aluminum panel with an ultra glossy finish. The result is a luscious display of vivid colors with excellent clarity, high contrast, and an extraordinary depth of imagery. The aluminum print has an extra 1/8" black dibond backer for added rigidity and durability, and is mounted on a 3/4" deep recessed float frame, so the print appears to float off the wall with no hanging system visible. These high quality giclee prints feature vivid, color-accurate ink pigments on heavyweight Canson Infinity Platine Fibre Rag fine art paper with a finely textured, satin semi-gloss surface. The prints have a white border around the image for easy matting and framing. With high archival ratings, these prints will last for many decades without fading.
The loose print is delivered without mounting or framing, so you'll need to handle it with care and take it to a local framer to have it matted and framed as you'd like. (more info)
